The Workplace Consultant is a Sr. Level Thought Leader charged with leading a customer journey through corporate workplace trends, product application, space design, and change management.  The role's primary responsibility will be to strategize with the Storr Strategic Solutions (SSS) team to win business, through strategic product applications, customer engagement, and showroom presentations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategically leading the SSS sales process to close business in cooperation with the Account Manager
  • Creating application concept drawings, specs and budget pricing
  • Extensive project budgets using Excel and CET
  • Visual product presentations using CET renderings and Power Point
  • Leading in providing an exemplary Showroom Experience to clients

SALES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic understanding of the sales process
  • Good probing skills necessary to facilitate the Discovery process
  • Able to uncover customer needs and lead application development, not just "follow directions"
  • Enjoys client interaction and can engage in a "sales" discussion
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients
  • Comfortable making presentations and demonstrating solutions to prospective customers
  • Comfortable with budget discussions estimates, contracts, margins
  • Able to manage to a "sales" goal
  • Desire to develop sales skills

DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creative development of presentation materials including, but not limited to, presentation boards, binders, Excel, PowerPoint, VR or CET
  • Good working knowledge of products offered by Storr and awareness of competitive product offerings.  Ability to research competition to apply our applications strategically while driving corporate product strategy
  • Be a liaison between the SSS and Design to help oversee the transition of account from pre-sell to implementation
  • Partake in vendor meetings to assess new and unique opportunities
  • Involvement in SSS strategy meetings
  • Participation in CSG Sales Meetings and initiatives to integrate knowledge across teams

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Showroom team participant to provide applications based on facilities requirements and to meet dealer showroom package requirements and deadlines. 
  • Assist Marketing with Storr branding and proposal initiatives
  • Assist with brainstorm and leadership of customer and A&D focused knowledge events
  • Participate in Hedberg and CRM processes to track and manage SSS funnel and performance metrics

  • Ability to deliver knowledge-based expertise and consulting that adds value, and separates Storr as a Corporate / Higher Education / Healthcare leader and solution provider
  • Require time management/prioritization skills and the ability to handle stress in a proactive manner
  • Need to be "results-oriented" (i.e., holding oneself accountable for results)
  • Initiate personal development to strengthen Corporate / Higher Education expertise on products, Change Management, Agile processes, issues, research, initiatives, etc.
  • Be a self-starter with a high level of responsiveness and flexibility
  • Provide a consultative approach to selling by working to understand the customer's critical business needs and by delivering appropriate solutions with a sense of purpose and urgency
  • Desire to work on a team as a motivated member
  • Strong communication skills, ability to seek to understand and customer pain points
  • Comfortable with budget discussions-estimates, contracts, margins
  • Desire to develop sales skills
  • Ability to wordsmith and assemble "RFI" requests for information and questions
  • Has a basic understanding of the sales process

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
  • 3-5 years of Contract Furniture product knowledge required
  • Strong CAD, CET and Excel skills
  • Proven organizational and follow-through skills required
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong relationship building and strategic planning skills a must
